Neo-Nazism

[edit]

This article should either cite "the red is for love and the black is for sorrow" (quote from one of the sources) or be explicit that the current imagery it references, "blood and soil", is a Neo-Nazi slogan. Perhaps both, to be clear about the dual use. 98.226.240.168 (talk) 18:16, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Regard alert to insignia and possible rendering caused by another internationals insignia which may have implications unforeseen.

[edit]

An expression of general concern raising the issue of insignia and the identification to personnel and the aspect of insignia internationally abroad.

Figuratively speaking, what could the implications of discovering that one’s insignia is exactly the same as a foreign overseas security forces?

I have found that such an implication regarding this type of issue, that has been raised here by me, does indeed exist.

between other international security forces and analysing their insignia, I came to the discovery and did confirm after comparing the find, that in comparison to my insignia that I/we identify by in the ADF is exactly the same resemblance of a black and red flag, of the Ukrainian insurgent army.

I hope this messege finds you well.

kind regards,

PVT WATERS 5/6 RVR

identification patch of ALPHA COY 5/6RVR which happens to also be completely identical when in comparison to the flag of the insurgency army, Ukrainian and Australias use of unique colours in regards to flagging and patching, for identification purposes for example and what “mess” could this possible concern cause in the future. With regard to the hyperthetical here in any event unforeseen… 120.21.87.97 (talk) 09:36, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jars Balan

[edit]

@Marcelus, what are sources to regard Jars Balan as "fringe"? Manyareasexpert (talk) 19:15, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

We need more reliable source to confirm that OUN adopted some "Slavic" colours from "Slavic songs"; also it would be nice if those songs were named. Marcelus (talk) 22:17, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I may agree with you on your proposal but the addition we are discussing is different - Red and black motives appeared in Slavic songs and poetry yet in XII century, with red symbolising love, and black - a symbol of sorrow. The combination of red and black has conjoined in a flag, which later, but far before the Second world war, began to associate with Ukrainian nationalism[1][2]. It's clearly way to disconnect red-black flag with OUN-UPA; it's a controversial attempt and we really need very solid sources to do that. Marcelus (talk) 08:05, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Should wikipedia editors decide on that? If so, let me express my disagreement. But a better approach would be just to follow the rules and to transcribe what the sources say.
https://www.radiosvoboda.org/a/25251033.html
https://www.google.com/books/edition/Three_Revolutions_Mobilization_and_Chang/bf0-EAAAQBAJ p. 144 ... flags in red and black that came into use in the public space during World War I ... the rolled up Cossack banners are in yellow-blue or red-black. ... The first source is wrong: OUN-B officialy adpted red-black flag and was a first organisation to do so; of course this combination of colours occured earlier in various contextes, but it's irrelevant here. Marcelus (talk) 14:55, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The first source is wrong
Again: wikipedia editor are to not to argue with sources.
it's irrelevant here
If source thinks otherwise, we are not to argue with it. Manyareasexpert (talk) 17:15, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But this is not about my opinion. The claim that the OUN-B never approved the black and red flag is inconsistent with what most reliable sources say. Marcelus (talk) 16:12, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
claim that the OUN-B never approved the black and red flag
Okay, nobody is saying that. Manyareasexpert (talk) 18:34, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
